Vineland High School’s girls crew team should once again be one of the region’s best in 2025.
VINELAND—Vineland High School’s crew team made waves this past season with podium finishes across multiple events and proving their competitive edge on the water. With standout performances at both the County Championships and at Stotesbury, the largest high school regatta in the nation, the Fighting Clan demonstrated skill and resilience. Heading into this upcoming season, Vineland will build on these successes and refine their technique and endurance.
The Girls JV 4 boat was the team’s biggest success story last season, clinching a gold medal at the County Championships on Lake Lenape. Coxswain Erin Kraus literally steered a skilled lineup of Exodus Hollander, Alyanna Tiu, Blake Harris and Sam Soracco to a dominant victory.
This solidified their reputation as one of the top JV boats in the area. That winning momentum carried over to the prestigious Stotesbury Cup Regatta. The Fighting Clan advanced to Day 2 of the semifinals which marked a major accomplishment given the level of national competition. The team’s strength lay in its seamless coordination and endurance. They still continued to make improvements in race starts and sprint finished so they could push even further throughout the season.
The Boys’ Varsity 4 shared in the success last season as they earned a silver medal in the County Championships. Coxswain Tyler Chong along with rowers Barry Ballurio, Nicholas Mainiero, Brendan Martinez and

stroke Michael Devito helped them secure the podium finish. Their technical precision and consistent pacing helped the team be successful, but sharpening their speed and closing meets could be key to reaching the top step next season.
Boys’ Novice 8 proved that Vineland’s future is bright as they took a bronze in the County Championships. Dante Giuliani led the boat, with a deep lineup of Nathan Chong, John Luciano, Jorge Flores, Daurio McManus, Tyler Pepe, Dylan Lopez, Dominic Mercado, and stroke Andrew Mainiero. Continued technical refinement and endurance training will be crucial for the team’s transition to the varsity level.
With a strong coaching foundation of Karlee Farrell, Paul Myers, Lou Tramontana, Brock Bridges and Connor Triantos, Vineland’s crew team is poised for more success in the upcoming season. As the Fighting Clan prepares for another competitive season, they’ll fine-tune their technique, improve stamina and perfect their race strategy to continue being a dominant force. With their recent success serving as motivation, expect Vineland to be a force to be reckoned with on the water again.
