
HAMMONTON—Hammonton First marks its 20th anniversary in 2025 and recently announced its slate of candidates for the upcoming Town Council election in November. According to a press release provided by Hammonton First each was selected due to their “dedication to nurturing the place we call home and its community values.”
The organization calls the 2025 election a significant milestone that coincides with a pivotal election year. Deputy Mayor Tom Gribbin leads this year’s ticket, vying for mayor, alongside the following council candidates: current councilman Jonathan Oliva, Ryan Niedoba, and John Caruso.
In the press release, Hammonton First provided the following bios for each candidate.
Tom Gribbin, running to be Hammonton’s next mayor, brings a tremendous amount of experience from his tenure as Deputy Mayor and Councilman. A respected attorney known for his dedication to public safety and public service, Tom has consistently prioritized fiscal responsibility and the expansion of community services while keeping taxes low. His community involvement includes hosting the annual Hammonton Tree Lighting Ceremony, serving as emcee of the Independence Day Parade, and co-hosting the New Year’s Eve Blueberry Drop.
Jonathan Oliva applies his extensive engineering expertise and leadership skills as a councilman, focusing on improving infrastructure and fostering business growth. As the Director of Engineering Services at South Jersey Gas Company and a Hammonton Councilman, Jonathan has played a pivotal role in planning and executing strategic projects that enhance local industry and quality of life, including spearheading the drafting of our town’s new Master Plan, which outlines Hammonton’s long-term vision for land use and economic growth.
Ryan Niedoba offers a blend of business acumen with deep experience in accounting, construction, and development. As a Commissioner of the Hammonton Environmental Commission and through his efforts with Mainstreet Hammonton, Ryan has utilized his expertise to help balance environmental stewardship with innovative approaches to town planning, ensuring Hammonton remains a vibrant community that balances growth with maintaining its unique character.
John Caruso, a dedicated U.S. Marine veteran and Highway Construction Professional, integrates his military experience and community advocacy to enhance local support systems, particularly for veterans. John’s active participation in veterans’ organizations and his advocacy for local labor demonstrate his commitment to ensuring Hammonton is a supportive environment for all families. He is eager to bring common sense solutions to town issues and ensure that all town infrastructure projects maintain high-quality standards.
